In the field of aeromechanics we are working on fluid-structure-interaction, which might cause self-exicted or externally excited vibrations. This area of research is highly interdisciplinary, as it combines different subject areas, especially structural dynamics, aerodynamics, thermodynamics and material science.Vibrations of turbomachines are undesirable, as they might lead to damages due to fatigue or overload. Reliable turbomachines therefore operate as far as possible vibration-free throughout their entire range of operation. The accurate and reliable numerically prediction of these vibrations is an enormous challenge. For this purpose we are using highly accurate and efficient numerical tools, which are validated by means of relevant test cases.
